| JCL Bio - JCL has been around for a long time and what's great about JCL is they have a real passion for this sport. Almost everyone involved with this company is involved in the powersports industry and races. They constantly work with performance companies to improve their products and have a in depth R&D department and bring in outside powersports professionals to help with the design process. Their parts warehouse is one of the biggest we've ever seen so its nice to work with a manufacture so dedicated to parts and service. Most of the scooters you see today look the same and feel the same mostly because they are all chinese. However, you know you are getting a great China scooter when you have a great name and reputation behind it. Everyone that we sell has a great name and we won't do business with someone who is not actively involved in the industry, the factory, and R&D process. JCL has made a huge effort to stay on top of the China Factory to ensure quality and reliability of the scooter, from the engine to the little nuts and bolts. Obviously its not a 6k Honda, but it will get the job done and you wont have to constantly worry about issues.
Killer's Review.
This is a nice scooter that has a super simple design and has a little open storage unit that is right in front of your knees. It will save you alot of money on gas and is great for going short distances. Alot of college students love this scooter because its inexpensive and can hold alot of storage under the seat. You can also put 2 people on this scooter and it will run great. Remember 50cc scooter only go around 35mph top speed so if you want something faster you'll need to hop up to a 150cc.
Killers deal on Scooters
We sold scooters about 5 years ago but most of the manufactures mopeds were junk so we dropped all the lines and never looked back. Then around Mid year of 2007 we started talking with a select few manufactures about possibly picking up their lines. We flew out to see about 15 manufactures and ended up going with 3. We wanted to be shocked with quality, we wanted to see reliability, a dedication for parts, and service techs that were on the ball. Unfortunately only 3 of the 15 could make the cut. The manufactures have continued to impress us over the last year and a half with continued upgrades and they are always pounding the dealers to suggest improvements. Its nice to have a voice in what we buy. A great thing we have seen improved is the quality of packaging. The shipping claims have went way down after the redesign of crates which makes everyone's life alot easier. As much as we try and find the best scooter manufactures as possible please realize it all still comes from China and you will still have issues from time to time. If you want perfect then Honda will hook you up for 6K+.
So what's the real Gas Mileage on a Scooter?
Alot of people ask about the MPG on these bikes. Some say they get 50 and others say they get 145. So why is there such a gap? There is an extremely easy answer and it will help explain why its so hard to give people a spot on answer. If you are doing stop and go riding or short rides where you turn off and start your scooter in short distances, then you will get crappy gas mileage. If you start up your scooter, drive 20 non stop miles, then turn off your scooter you will get amazing gas mileage. Keep this in mind before you buy. Either way scooters are an incredible gas savers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some frequently asked questions we get about the Scooters we sell! If you have any other questions just let us know!!
Q. How can I get the TT&L done?
A. If you are in Texas then we are required do the TT&L for you at the shop. The TT&L will cost around $125 dollars in Title, Registration, Inspection, Fees, and another 6.25% Vehicle State Tax. If you are out of state and you do this yourself you just need your invoice from us, and the MCO (Manufacture Certificate of Origin that we will provide you ). In some states you MUST have a Motorcycle license to register a Scooter over 50cc. Check with your DMV and local laws before purchasing!!
Q. Where are these scooters made and are they reliable?
A. These Scooters are made in China and the brand is Bash. They have been around for 6 years now and are one of the top rated manufactures in China. They have won multiple awards for their engine reliability and durability. They have one of the best warranty programs with their stocking dealers and when it comes to taking care of the warranty issues that could come up, they are on top of their game. It’s nice to be a dealer and finally be working with a manufacture on top of their game.
Q. What is the assembly like on these scooters?
A. These scooters are fairly simple to put together. They come mostly assembled. If you get a scooter with a storage box then you will have to mount that which is 4 bolts. Some models require the front wheel to be put on which is one bolt. The mirrors and windscreen will need to be put on which is a simple task. And sometimes the front fender will need to be put on. Other than that, just gas and go. They already have oil in the engines so there is not much you need to do to get rolling.
Q. What colors do the scooters come in?
A. The one in the auction is for a BLACK, but we also do stock blue, red, and silver in case you do not like the color BLACK.
Q. Do I have to have a special license to drive a Scooter?
A. In some states yes, in other states no. Check with your local DMV before you buy.
Q. What kind of Gas do the scooters need and what maintenance is required?
A. Scooters need premium gas, you can't put regular or mixed gas in these scooters. As far as maintenance goes, there is not much to these scooters. We did alot of research before getting in this business because we really hate dealing with issues!!! Well the employees don't but owner Mike Smith hates issues. He goes to China around 3 times a year just to visit factories to make sure he knows who he is doing business with and what type of quality we can come to expect. Check out one of his China Trip videos, they are pretty... "interesting"!
Q. How many miles per gallon will these scooters get?
A. The 50cc Scooters will get around 100mpg, the 150cc Scooters will get around 90mpg, and the 250cc Scooters will get around 70mpg. This of course is manufactured suggest and the actual mpg will vary based on rider weight, hill climb, etc. Each Scooter holds 3 gallons on average.
Q. Why does it matter which dealer I buy a scooter from?
A. Whenever you buy a scooter you HAVE to make sure the dealer is an actual dealer of whatever respective state that dealer is located in. They will have a GND # issued by the state. If they do not have that number then they LEGALLY cannot issue you an MCO to register the bike with the state, nor can they do the TT&L for you.
Q. What is the difference between a Scooter and a Moped?
A. A moped is an actual pedal bike with a "helper motor". A scooter is a fully automatic motor cycle with a floorboard. If you didn't see the answer to a question you might have had, just call us or email us and we'll be happy to help you! If you are in DFW, Texas, feel free to stop by our shop!! |
