A little info about Go Carts and Dune Buggys!
A go-kart is a type of four-wheel drive vehicle which is usually very small, able to accommodate only one person, though some go-kart models can accommodate up to two people. Their overall body frame consists mostly of steel tubing to provide a rigid foundation, and their engines reside in an open chassis. This design significantly reduces the weight of the cart, providing more speed to the driver.
Go-karts come in a wide variety of designs. Recreational go-karts are usually slow, and are equipped with a 4-stroke engine, an electric motor, or even no motor at all. High-powered variants called “Superkarts” by some, consist of either a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke engine, and their performance can even match some racing cars on long circuits. Their engines can also vary in size depending on the power needs of the cart.
There is also a vehicle called a “dune buggy”, a type of go-kart that is fitted with specialized tires that can run efficiently on sand. Dune buggies are seen mostly on areas where there are lots of sandy dunes, especially on beaches. Still, another variant of the dune buggy is called the “sandrail”, a buggy which is most suited for driving on open sand. Finally, the last variant of the cart is an “off-road go-kart” which, as its name implies, has been fitted with tires that are more suitable for driving on off-road terrains and other difficult surfaces that normal carts cannot.
