ATVs, or all-terrain vehicles, are a type of transportation that has the capability to run on any kind of terrain on land, mostly in exchange for speed. They are more commonly known as quads, quad bikes, or four-wheelers (for the four-tired variants), and three-wheelers (for the three-tired variants).
ATVs also come in different engine sizes depending on the preference of the individual. These engine sizes range from 110cc, 125cc, 150cc, 250cc, up to 800cc.
While riding ATVs on the streets is legal in some parts of the world, the United States specifically forbids ATVs from being ridden on the streets due to the vehicles unique design. In order to regulate the safety of ATV riding, the All-terrain Vehicle Safety Institute (ASI) was formed in 1988 to offer specialized training. The aim of ASI is to provide ATV riders with the proper education for ATV operation, as well as safety guidelines. Theres a fee for attending the training sessions, though minimal, and for new ATV owners, its completely free. In addition, passing the ASI training session is a mandatory requirement for all minor-aged children to acquire a license to ride their kids ATVs. For those outside of the ASIs coverage, there are also state laws that regulate the licensing of ATV riders to determine if they have permission to use their ATV.
The current Chinese brands available for ATVs are Coolster, BMS, IceBear, CFMoto, Hisun, JCL, Tao Tao, Kazuma, etc.!
